POLAR Star Basics for Polar Knowledge Canada staff
For full details, see POLAR’s Visual Identity Manual. Any questions about POLAR official symbols should be directed to: POLAR Communications, communications@polar.gc.ca
✓ These are approved versions of the POLAR Star. Black and white versions are also available. If you need an image, please contact communications@polar.gc.ca
✓ The POLAR Star is an additional image for POLAR but does not replace the Government of Canada (GC) official symbols that we must use:
✓ Posters and brochures: Where information about programs or services are presented, GC official symbols (corporate signature and wordmark) are required. The POLAR Star does not replace these symbols; it is approved to act as an additional identifier for POLAR.
✓ PowerPoint Presentations: | A standard presentation template, including the POLAR Star, is available and must be used by all staff.
|

✓ The POLAR Star can be used on promotional clothing, issued clothing for staff, and protective clothing. POLAR Communications always needs to be consulted for clothing.
✓ All POLAR vehicles must be clearly marked with the corporate signature and Canada wordmark but the POLAR Star can also be used on POLAR vehicles.
✕ Letters, letterhead, briefing notes, policies, signs or business cards:
The POLAR Star is NOT to be used on these items, accordance with its conditions of use.
✕ Partnership Acknowledgement: When partners want to acknowledge POLAR’s contributions or financial support, POLAR’s corporate signature must be used. The POLAR Star should NOT be used for acknowledgements.
